Only at Cubamusic the world premiere of Mayimbe’s first discographic work, with his Cuban-Peruvian orchestra directed by maestro Barbaro Fines, worldwide renowned pianist and composer.
The title "De La Habana a Perú" guides us inside this wonderful album. It’s the personal and music experience of Barbaro Fines, great promise of Cuban music, thanks to his brilliant studies at Caturla Conservatory in La Habana, to the tight relationship with Manolito Simonet and the special tie with Juan Formell, of whom he was a protégé. But in order to build up his career and orchestra, Barbarito recently chose to move to Lima, Peru.
It took him a large amount of effort and sacrifices to assemble a young talented band, which has now reached levels of absolute excellence, with their much pleasant and customized timbre. The sound of the album creates a stunning atmosphere.
It’s Cuban Timba, strong, vital, highly danceable (with songo roots, deriving from a Van Van matrix) but still sweet, soft and latin in every part but in the vibrating performances of the most-peculiar winds section. A great product from Cuban school, a mix of rhythms, also latin, that will undoubtedly please the audience of all international stages.
Songs like “Acuerdate", "De La Habana a Perù", "Tren Bala" and "El Cuchi Cuchi" are already smashing Hits on Latin and Peruvian radios.
