Biography

Typical orchestra.
The Estrellas Cubanas Orchestra was founded in Havana, in 1956, led by eminent violinist, arranger and composer Félix Reina.  
Estrellas Cubanas is a musical group dedicated to disseminate Cuban popular music, whose repertoire includes the most diverse genres such as danzón, cha cha chá, bolero, bolero-cha and the "sipisón" rhythm that has characterized them for many years. 
This orchestra have regularly performed in Cuba and abroad, and has participated in countless Cuban and foreign radio and television programs, as well as in short films for the Cuban Institute of Art and Film Industry. (ICAIC)
Estrellas Cubanas has recorded phonograms for Roxy, Puchito, Dujo, Areíto, EGREM and BIS Music Labels.
One of this Orchestra´s best works is the record entitled "Violín a Ochún" (Ochún: Caridad del Cobre Virgin, Cubans` spiritual tutelar patroness since it was the first one recorded in Cuba combining ritual songs and the best violin perfor mances, aimed at paying homage to said deity.
