Singer and composer.
The young trova singer Ariel Díaz was born in Havana, on February 15, 1974.
At an early age, being a 16 year-old teen-ager, he composed his first songs in a self-taught way, and in 1996 he performed his first concert.
Even though his presence in the musical world is still very recent due to his young age, his work as composer has been very outstanding in the realm of the thinking song, being, as he is, the true heir of the founders of the Cuban Nueva Trova. His songs, full of great lyricism (as corroborated by his themes "Trova de las flores" and "No estoy en casa"), have made him worthy of important acknowledgements in his country and of the critics as well. The musical work of Ariel Díaz, as those of the majority of the youngest Cuban trova singers, has been closely linked to the Pablo de la Torriente Brau Center, an organization that devotes all its efforts to preserve the continuity of the trovadoresco movement in Cuba. R>Ariel has performed in informal musical meetings, has carried out personal concerts and together with other singers and composers, has performed in different stages next to top artists such as Silvio Rodríguez, Noel Nicola, Vicente Feliú and Teresita Fernández.
He has participated in more than ten phonograms, one of them in solitary, based on a live concert, having recorded the rest together with young artists of his same generation or with renowned troubadours as well.
