This Charanga Orchestra is made up by students from the "Amadeo Roldán" Conservatory who graduated at the Elementary Schools of Music in the Cuban capital and whose ages range from 14 to 18 years.
This orchestra has participated in a number of community activities and other artistic events. Undoubtedly, the recording of its first CD entitled "Si no sabes no te metas" has been a very special experience for its members and for those who encouraged and guided the talent of these musicians.
On one occasion, master Adalberto Alvarez felt impressed when he heard La Charanguita for he remembered his school years. Moved by the enthusiasm of these youngsters, he decided to set in motion a recording project that has become an irrefutable proof of the success achieved by these Cuban teaching centers.
Working with master Enrique Lazaga, eminent percussionist, composer and leader of the Ritmo Oriental Orchestra, who became the musical director of the record, was of great value
for these would-be professionals. The record combines different genders of the Cuban popular music as, for example, the danzón, the son, the song and the guaracha as well as the samba, representing the Latin American music, and uses the most significant orchestra model in the Cuban popular music history.
