Biografía

Born in August 23, 1973. In 1987 he graduated from Elementary Level guitar at the "Ernesto Lecuona" school of Sancti Spíritus, and from Middle Level guitar at the "Escuela Nacional de Arte" (Art National School) in the course 90-91.  
In 1991 Elmer Ferrer joined the group directed by Cuban singer Anabel López and also the "Estado de Animo" group, accompanying the Cuban singer and composer Santiago Feliú. Together with Feliú, he performed in countries such as Spain, Bolivia, Uruguay, Germany and Argentina. In this last country he performed together with other Cuban artists such as X Alfonso, the Ernán López-Nussa Quartet, Gerardo Alfonso, and as a guest of the "Column "B" group and of Bobby Carcasés. 
In Cuba he has participated in important concerts such as "Music Bridge" and the concert to celebrate the Anniversary of the Cuban Culture, together with Silvio Rodríguez and the Ernán López-Nussa group. Elmer Ferrer was a member of the "Temperamento" group and at present he is par t of the group "Habana Ensemble", directed by César López.  
He has participated in many festivals held abroad " i.e. Colombia, Spain-- and in Cuba, particularly in the Jazz Plaza Festivals in Havana as a member of the above-mentioned groups. Likewise, he has been invited to Guitar Festivals such as the "Internacional de Guitarra", held every two years and the "Aires Americanos" festivals.
He was one of the musicians that participated in the sound-track making of the Cuban-Mexican film "Violeta", playing the guitar and the tres.  
He taught popular guitar at the Escuela Nacional de Arte.
He received the Cubadisco 2003 Prize in the Opera Prima category, and that same year he was nominated in the category of Jazz.
